Dark Horse Meetup

The Dark Horse has been a Boulder fixture since 1975, sitting at the corner of Baseline Road and U.S. 36 and drawing an unusually broad mix of people: CU students decompressing after class, researchers and staff grabbing a bite after a long day, and Boulder locals treating it as a reliable, no-frills gathering spot. “World Famous” reputation is not about hype so much as lived experience: a bar-and-grill known for burgers and wings, and an interior packed “from top to bottom” with movie props and turn-of-the-century antiques that feels like a curated time capsule of Boulder weirdness.

With the Dark Horse now in its final chapter as the Williams Village II redevelopment moves forward (and demolition timing recently extended into spring 2026), we want to gather while we still can and give it the send-off it deserves. We’ll host an event to honor the Dark Horse and celebrate Boulder’s public-interest…
